Hartford Police Seize Firearm, Arrest Two

Officers found an SKS 7.62 caliber assault rifle in the van and several bullets and one shell casing matching the caliber of the rifle, police said.

Fernando Alscon, 32, faces various weapons charges and is being held on $750,000 bond. Louis Arrava is charged with keeping weapons in a motor vehicle.

Police were called around 1 a.m. today about a person shooting out of a white van, police said. Officers stopped the van and saw the assault rifle in plain view, police said.
