Program Highlights for this year’s National Summit:

  • A thought-provoking session on the importance of public health and safety work around gun  violence prevention by Daniel Franklin, a Principal at the Benenson Strategy Group, who recently wrote a compelling op-ed in the Washington Post.
  • Learn how to organize your community and what actions you can take to bring it home in your community to affect policy and change social norms.
  • Brady Board Chair Sarah Brady and former Brady staff will lead an empowering discussion on what it took to pass the Brady bill and how we can apply those lessons to expanding Brady background checks to all gun sales.
  • Brady’s Legal Action Project will discuss their expert legal work and show you how they hold the gun industry accountable and help keep guns off our streets.
  • Gear up for the midterm elections with a briefing from Everytown for Gun Safety and Americans for Responsible Solutions and gain insight on the key Senate and House races.
  • Discover how the corporate gun lobby undermines good gun policy and learn what you can do to hold them accountable.
  • Attend a series of interactive breakout sessions where you will learn from fellow advocates, Brady staff and experts how to hone your skills working with local law enforcement, how to tell stories that make an impact, how to use technology to grow your local coalitions, and learn about actions you can take—any day of the year—to make an impact where you live.
