On April 5, CAGV had our first Lobby Day at the state capitol to talk to legislators about HB-6667, Governor Lamont’s Act Addressing Gun Violence. CAGV supporters were joined by allies, including members of the Greater Hartford Interfaith Action Alliance and staff from Hartford Communities that Care. Check us out below!
We were there because we need to keep HB-6667 top of mind and raise awareness about the importance of increased budget funding for community violence intervention.
At CAGV Lobby Days, advocates ask legislators for their support, hand them our fact sheet and drop by their legislators’ offices to demonstrate their personal commitment to reducing gun violence in Connecticut. Even if you’re shy about talking to lawmakers, just showing up makes a statement.
Like we did for the public hearings, we’ll brief you, provide written guidance and be by your side in the Capitol. Please click here to sign up for one or more lobby days, happening every Wednesday in April, and on May 3.
Thanks for showing your support by showing up!
