CAGV Armor of Light Invite #1 Graphic

Join CAGV for a special screening of The Armor of Light followed by a panel discussion with the principal character in the film Rev. Rob Schenck; U.S. Representative Jim Himes; and Dr. Tommie Jackson, pastor of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.

The Armor of Light follows the journey of Rev. Schenck, an Evangelical minister trying to find the courage to preach about the toll of gun violence. Along the way, Rev. Schenck meets Lucy McBath, the mother of Jordan Davis, an unarmed teenager who was murdered in Florida and whose story has cast a spotlight on “Stand Your Ground” laws.

An official selection of the Tribeca Film Festival, The Armor of Light is a fascinating look at what it takes to change tightly held moral beliefs and the prospects for finding “common ground” between people who hold radically different views. It provides an intimate view into the role that guns play in the lives of millions of Americans; beliefs that have made progress on gun safety laws so difficult.

The screening and discussion will be held at the Avon Theatre in Stamford, on March 9 from 7:30pm-‐10:00pm. Click here to purchase tickets at $12 per ticket. Watch the trailer here.
