This is the time to be heard and seen. The Judiciary Committee will be hearing testimonies on safe storage, a ghost gun ban and other gun safety bills (the date is subject to change, however).
Whether as an observer, testifying in person or submitting written testimony, participating in a public hearing is one of the most important ways you can show support for our legislative agenda. It lets committee members and the media know there is grassroots support for the bills. Individuals opposed to gun safety laws always turn out; we need to outnumber them.
We’re updating our Public Hearing Guide that tells you everything you need to know, regardless of whether you can attend the hearing in person (and, the hearing will go into the night, so it’s OK to come after work).
If you would like to participate or learn more, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with “I want to know more” in the email body copy and we’ll get you the guide as soon as it’s ready.
Please mark your calendar for Monday, March 11: “Support gun safety, public hearing in Hartford.”
