Help us recruit new gun violence prevention advocates!
What makes CT Against Gun Violence so powerful is our network of grassroots advocates. Change—like stronger gun laws—happens when citizens get engaged.
Our existing supporters—people like you—have been the most effective way for us to attract new supporters. They do this by hosting CAGV Advocacy Briefings where we come and speak to a group of their friends, or members of a community or grassroots group to which they belong.
During the pandemic, we’ve switched from in-person briefings to webinars, which makes it even easier for you. All you need to do is pick a time and invite friends or group members. We do the rest.
CAGV staff will talk about the types of gun violence in Connecticut, especially community gun violence and firearm suicide which account for most of the state’s gun deaths. We’ll talk about how strong gun laws and other measures save lives, and how grassroots advocacy can make a difference. There is also time for Q&A.
With Q&A, the briefings run about an hour, and can be scheduled during the day or evening. We’re happy to customize the content to your interests.
